Climatch for AI assistants
Ask your assistant where the weather is like home but sunnier, how two cities compare month by month, or what grows on a plot of land. Climatch's MCP server gives it the same data and links as this site, for 31,000+ towns. Free, read-only, no key.

Tools
search_places
Towns matching a name, most populous first, with ids and slugs the other tools accept. Use it when a name is ambiguous (Springfield, San Jose) to pick the right one.
get_climate
A town's climate: a one-line summary and a paragraph, the 12 monthly averages (high, low, rain, humidity, sun), the most and least pleasant months, a 0–100 nice-weather score, cost of living when known, and links. Temperatures in °C and °F, rain in mm and inches.
find_similar_climates
Towns whose climate is most like a town's, best match first, optionally 'but warmer / cooler / drier / sunnier / less humid', for one month, or within some countries or continents. Each match has its 0–100 score, how it differs, and links. Defaults match the Climatch app: year-round, abroad only, 25,000+ people.
compare_climates
Two towns side by side: their 0–100 climate match, a few sentences on how they differ, and both sets of monthly averages. When seasonsFlipped, B's months are shifted 6 in alignedB so July lines up with January. Temperatures in °C and °F, rain in mm and inches.
best_weather_in_month
The 30 large towns with the most comfortable weather in a month (afternoon highs near 24°C / 75°F, little rain, low humidity), spread across countries. From the ~2,000 most populous towns.
weather_for_the_money
Cities of 500,000+ ranked by how much nicer their weather is than their cost of living predicts (value), with a 0–100 nice-weather score and cost of living (US = 100). Quadrants: sweet (fine weather, affordable), pricey, tough (cheap, harder climate), other. Countries under a US 'do not travel' advisory are left out.
what_grows_here
Crops ranked by how well a town's or a map point's climate suits them (0–100), with what limits each, whether it needs irrigation, and the growing climate: hardiness zone, frost dates, chill hours, rain, dry season. Climate only: no soil, pests or markets.
list_crops
The crops and varieties Climatch scores, with the slugs what_grows_here and where_to_grow use.
where_to_grow
Where in the world a crop (or one variety) suits the climate: land area that fits well, the best regions and countries, the best-fitting towns, and what stops it elsewhere. Scored on a 0.125° land grid. Climate only.
Good to know
- Every tool only reads. Numbers are 1991–2020 averages, not forecasts.
- Each response gives °C and °F, mm and inches, and links to the matching Climatch page.
- Crop fits are climate only: no soil, pests, water rights or markets.
- Up to 30 requests a minute and 600 a day per IP. Please don't use it for bulk export.
